3XNieces

Flew to Disneyworld to spend some time with my nieces-three. Woke at 3:30am Monday, drove to Milwaukee and then flew to Orlando. Nice flights, great time at Disney, pleasant family time. I have chronicled this journey in haiku.

Sunny Disneyworld!
Now my vacation begins!
It is raining now…

Where the Hell am I?
I fell asleep on the boat.
Now I’ll have to walk…

Heat, New York accents.
“I’ll beat the piss out of you.”
Cranky mom to kid.

Asphalt is melting.
It must be hot in those suits.
Tigger still capers.

MGM theme park.
Penning haiku in the shade.
Looking at women.

From nine until five.
“Tower of Terror, again!”
We’ve been on three rides.

My head’s burned again.
Cloudy and rainy, my ass!
Stupid weather man.

Hot kids get cranky.
Then Mickie Mouse shakes their hand.
The mouse chills them out.

A babble of tongues.
They pose and snap a photo.
One language in film.

Saw Cirque du Soleil.
Acrobats, clowns, trampolines.
I am out of shape.

Thunderclouds drift in.
Late in the day and still hot.
Time for one more ride.

“You shut up!” “Make me!”
“I don’t make butts, I wipe them!”
Quality niece-time.

“Go right here, no left!”
We have two points but no line.
The Broski drives on.

My stomach is upset.
Who must I meet on the plane?
Threat level Orange.

Too sleepy to read.
I’d rather write bad haiku.
Or watch the cloudscapes.

A bumpy plane ride.
Flight attendant falls over.
Lap dance? I decline.

very nice... both the haiku story and the title of your blog.

LMAO at the last haiku - and the whole thing was beautifully concise and detailed at the same time. I admire anyone who can write poetry, as I always found it quite difficult. Great stuff!
