Wisdom is not the destination, it is the path.

New things I've learned this year:

1) It is unwise to mention my love of zombie movies on the first date.
2) Never fart while listening to your iPod. You have no idea how loud it will be.
3) Unless you're in a completely aweful mood, hang out with friends if you have the option. And sometimes, even if you're in a completely aweful mood, hang out with friends if you have the option. Isolation, whether self-imposed or not, can be terrifically unhealthy.
4) If you've spilled gasoline on your hands, don't rub your eyes.
5) Have adventures. Even little ones. When you look back at your life, I bet you won't remember a lot of the times you planted your ass on a couch and watched reality and game shows. You will remember the laughing, the sex, the fights, the places, the meals, the wounds, the debates and the hugs.
6) Most art, in any artform, is crap. Find the non-crap. Enjoy it. And when the mood strikes, even enjoy some of the crap.

Christmas/Birthday/Hanging/New Years

Christmas this year was quite refreshing and fun. I spent it with my folks, Broski, Mrs. Broski, and My Nieces Three. The Broski family procured a really cool pool cue for 3XHAR! Thank you Broski Family! There was Mom’s apple pie, cookies and strata! And mashed potatoes! During the day, Anna, Kayla and I repatriated a lost dog to it’s rightful owner! Could Christmas get any better? Well, sure, but it’s just a saying. Everybody, calm down. Also, I've joined the ranks of the iPod users. Very neato.

Well, my birthday will always be associated with the day Saddam Hussein was hanged until dead! Sweet. So, while a mass murderer was swinging from a rope, I was playing pool, drinking beer and chatting with friends at the Downtown Great Dane! Remember kids: if you kill hundreds of thousands of people, you might die at the end of a rope, if you don’t, you can go play pool with friends! In your face, Hussein! I had a lovely time. Thanks and shout outs to my homeys who came to the Dane! And thanks to the honest feedback from the ladies on my really, really bad pickup lines! ('Hi, I'm 3XHAR. Two of my favorite things are commitment and changing myself.')

Spent New Year's Eve with friends over at Joey The Eye-Talian and Dutchy’s place. Spent today relaxing with the Hound, watching the HBO miniseries Rome on DVD. I enjoyed Rome and would watch it again with friends…

I will now muse on what I have learned from last year and make New Years Resolutions… Nah. I think I’ll just go to bed. Flannel sheets and a tired Hound make for good sleep.

This year, 2007, will be a grand year. I will make it so.
